Coffee Filter Flowers

Supplies you will need:

• Coffee Filters
• Hot glue
• Stem- you can buy at any craft store- it is a thin, green, metal stem
• Pliers
• Paint
• Metal tin

Instructions on how to make-

First, decide what color you want your flowers to be. If you would like color, you make a paint-water mixture in a metal tin. Make sure you mix them well (you can use a fork) make sure there is no thick paint at the bottom. Leave them to dry until they are no longer wet. If you don’t want color, and you like the color the coffee filters are just plain, then you can skip the step above. You will need 12 coffee filters. Next, you crumple all the coffee filters up, and then flatten them out, (they do not have to be all the way flat). After that, poke small holes in all the coffee filters in the center. The next step is to make your stem. Use the pliers to twist it into a small circle. It’s okay if it has gaps in it. Finally, you make your flower. Grab one of your coffee filters, and put some glue around the center of your stem. Push the coffee filter up on the stem, and pinch it around the center of the stem so that it gets glued. Next, put glue on the bottom of that coffee filter, and glue the next one on. Repeat the steps highlighted in yellow for all 12 of your coffee filters. When your flower is completed, you can scrunch up all the petals to give it different looks.
